How To Connect Bluetooth Printer To Iphone

READING articles or saving documents on your phone or tablet is perfect when you are on the go, but what happens if you want to keep a paper copy of that important page?

Many of us wouldn't even consider printing from our iPhone or iPad, but it is surprisingly easy.

Apple's iOS makes it as easy to print from your phone or iPad as it would be from your Mac Book, as long as you have a compatible Bluetooth printer.

Read on to see how you can print any page or document from your handheld Apple device.

1. Make your Bluetooth printer available

Before you start, make sure your printer is discoverable.

If you have already used Bluetooth printing with your computer, you shouldn't need to do anything.

A number of printers will allow you to do this by pressing an external button.

2. Turn on your Bluetooth

Go into your device's "Settings" tab and select Bluetooth.

Click the sliding button so that it appears green to indicate your Bluetooth is active - you should also see the 'B' symbol next to your battery indicator on the top right-hand corner of the screen.

3. Tap printer's name to connect

Once you have switched on your Bluetooth, a list of previously connected Bluetooth devices, along with discoverable devices will appear.

Click on the one showing the name of your printer, and your portable device will connect to the printer.

4. Open document you want to print

Go back into the document you want to print.

This can be a webpage, email, saved iBook or Pages document among others.

5. Select the page options icon

Click on the icon that look like an arrow pointing out of the top of a box.

This will give you a pop-up menu with a range of different actions for the page.

Scroll across the bottom line of icons to find the one that says "Print" and click on it.

6. Select printing details

Like you would do when you print from a computer, you will then be given the option of printing a number of copies and a range of pages.

Select the desired ranges, then go to the "Select Printer" line at the top.

Your paired Bluetooth printer will appear in this section.

Click on it to send your document to that printer.

7. Send it to the press

Once you have entered all the required information, the "Print" button in the top right-hand corner will illuminate.

Click on it to have your document or page transferred to a paper copy.

NB: Once you have finished printing, unless you regularly use Bluetooth for other devices, remember to switch it off - leaving your Bluetooth on can drain your battery.
