Vampire Rush Windows Phone update repairs an Xbox Achievement, but problems linger

Vampire Rush for Windows Phone

When Vampire Rush debuted as a Nokia-exclusive Xbox Windows Phone game at the beginning of April, it won my heart with its mixture of action and tower defense gameplay, humor, and a singled-out lack of sparkles. Only information technology did suffer from a couple of broken Achievements equally well every bit a conspicuous lack of the iOS version'southward Survival mode. The developers promised a patch, so I didn't stress over those issues too harshly in our review.

Not two months after, that patch has arrived. Unfortunately though, applying the update seems to break the game. Information technology crashes on kickoff-up and becomes unplayable. In that location is a workaround, nevertheless: delete the game and reinstall it. You'll go the updated version, properly working and with some selection improvements.

However, reinstalling also ways you'll lose your save data, setting you back a bit on the grinding Achievements. Should you update and so? If you're not that far in the game, sure. Merely if you lot've invested a few hours into Vampire Blitz already, yous might want to hold off. Nosotros notified Lithuanian developer A-Steroids of the updating problem. They're now investigating the crusade and so that they can put out another update (that won't crash the game).

Welcome to Survival Manner

Vampire Rush Survival mode

The most significant improver of the version 1.i update is Survival mode. To unlock it, you'll need to complete the second Campaign level, Valley of Winds. This unlocks the first Survival mode stage. Beating the fifth stage gets you Cemetery Survival, and the final stage unlocks Outpost Survival.

Vampire Rush Survival mode

Survival Mode puts you lot in much longer and harder versions of the original campaign stages. The enemies come in large numbers correct off the bat, and you lot won't take much fourth dimension to prepare your defenses. You lot'll only take access to any towers and upgrades you've already unlocked in the Campaign, so you might not want to jump into Survival right after beating the second level.

Frantically fending off hordes of monsters proves quite addictive – and challenging. Each Survival stage has its own friends leaderboard. Even if you tin can't beat the stage, y'all might at to the lowest degree be able to outdo your friends!

Accomplishment partially unlocked

Vampire Rush Gorgeous Greg Achievement

Skilful news, bad news time. The skillful news is the 'Gorgeous Greg' Achievement can now be unlocked. Just reach the 4th Campaign stage and kill the Red Lord enemy (pictured beneath) without dying. Every bit long as y'all take a hitting but remain live while killing him, you'll unlock the Achievement!

Sadly though, the second broken Accomplishment 'Rich and Famous' did not get fixed with this update. The Achievement is supposed to unlock when players accumulate a total of 100,000 gold throughout the class of the game; it is not Survival-specific. Withal, A-Steroids has not nonetheless been able to determine why the Achievement doesn't trigger properly, and then information technology remains broken.

Only don't give up hope, Achievement hunters! As I mentioned before, Vampire Rush is due for a second update that will correct the installation problems of today's update. Once that's out of the mode, the developer still plans to release a 3rd update that will fix 'Rich and Famous.'
